Replacing the King Pin and wheel on the Greenspeed GTT

As to a problem with the Dynamo, I have had a problem with it from the beginning, aligning the disk pads, shimming the calliper then taking it on a ride to find that it would move again and I would have to re shim it again. A very quick job no problems. The dynamo its self has a problem to as you can see in the video, I think the Cal peer could do with a bleed, that will be the next job.

25th Nov 2012 UP DAT

Hi there,

 Sunday 25^th Greenspeed GTT Update,

We took the Tandem out to day first time for a longish time.

Did not Video the trip as it was only a short trip to Windsor for a cup of tea and back again.

However did a video Update.

 

Ride out to WIndsor via Poyle and Datchet, tea by the river and back home via Uxbridge. 27 miles total distance, average speed around 12.5 mph, maximum speed 28.5 mph.

 I think this was the last of the summer, a really nice day so took the Greenspeed up to London for the day. Lost count of the Photos being taken, it’s always great fun taking the tandem up London.

Nice to see in my life time at last there remembered, whatever the feelings they were only young men, mostly on their teens and twenty’s , and I am living in t6he way I do as to their lives and depth.

So many people new Rocco, and so many have herd of him

There are a lot of stories of how others met him or how he would turn up in the most unexpected places.

I was on a sailing ship as a member of crew that set sail from Southampton bound for the Gran Canary Island, and, somewhere out at sea a week into the trip I got chatting to another blind guy on the ship and he was a cyclist a stoker on a Tandem, I just happened to menschen Rocco’s Name and the guy said O Yes I know Rocco.

Even in mid Atlantic he was known of

Once you had met him you could not forget him or his voice

What a Nice Guy he was

BAR END SHIFTER FIX

Received the new bar end shift for the 9 S Gear changer 

There was a fault with the one on the Tandem there was just to much play in it to hold the chain  in  in place, when gear changing, replaced it to night and all went well no problems just a bit time consuming .

And had to replace the cable ends as one or two where a bit raged. All fixed now and running 100% 

again

The Tandem was taken out to day by  Ros and Patrick
for a spin as there interested in finding out more about the Greenspeed and It was Great to show it off and let them have a play on it, really nice to  a good chat about my findings and experiences on it,  I think even Patrick’s guide dog was impress. It was really nice to meet you and thanks for the meal.

Is it not the way of things, test riding in the rain and  after you left the sun came out!

Cycle Demonstration for safer cycling.  A wet Damp day soggy underpants !!!!

Got a little cold as to the hold up at the start. Completed the ride around London Great always Great fun Love, lots of photos taken of us its amazing. Cam started to pack up in the rain so had to put it away, a good day I adore my Green speed GTT.

Greenspeed GTT Update April 2012.

Great still going well a little problem with the Bar end shifter but will be resolved with a new one to be fitted. However that’s it as in the video no problems.

As Adrian was Having breakfast at T5 — at BA CONCORD LONGE, off on his Honeymoon instead of riding the Tandem! Very inconsiderate of him J
So I have a new trainee Co Capitan Muhayman to day and did his first trip out to day. I think he did quite well for a first attempt at flying the Greenspeed, he has a lot to learn but a few hours in the seat should see him alright. He has to remember to avoid hills. I did have a nice flat direct root worked out, however he wished to make a detour and we found our selves some hills! He will learn on a long run LOL. He seemed to enjoy himself and he put up with me which is harder than riding the Tandem so he has passed hid first test. J next time we will get it in top gear, at least he did not scream like Adrian did on his first downhill descent.

Excellent run in the sun threw London out the other side to the Olympic sight
Calvin and I have entered the Tandem speed advent, Adrian says he will not be fit
For the advent as he has peeked to early!! And will not be at his best.

Pitty but this is as near as I will get to the Olympics

O well I am not the only one there are thousands like me out there.

On the Greenspeed GTT 19th  Feb 2012 west midd,x club run
Ride led by Tony nice ride good day out.

I am now on the dark side.

Saturday 11th Feb

I have to admit the last few rides I have been suffering with knee Problems and pan in the legs

So much so I was beginning to think that it was just too much for me!  

However on talking to the experts I lengthened the leg fitting on my Ice sprint to just longer than on a my two wheeled Bike, although I was not having problems in the sprint I felt that I was getting more power threw to the back wheel, so I lengthened the Greenspeed to Mach my sprint again just longer then the two wheeled bike.

After today’s ride which was only around 38 miles but what a different!! No pain in my   knees

Or the mussels, the shift have altered what part of the leg muscle is being used back up the leg from the knee, an excellent result really pleased.

It seems over the 1000 miles we have done on this tandem my leg muscles have developed as I now ride only trikes and I have not ridden a Bike in over 9 months, I commute every day in my Ice spring around 6 miles each way and most weekend I am on the Greenspeed, plus during the summer I did tour around Kent on the sprint,   the leg muscle have changed. Interesting I am tempted to try a long ruin on my Thorn Shaper 26” to see what’s changed but not till the better weather.

But I think I have trike legs Know I am now part of the collective I have been assimilated, resistant’s is futile. I am now on the dark side.

Minus 6 degrees @ 9.30am a cold start, the sun was out but it just looked good!

Normal around London ride with some fun in the park.

Saturday 21^st Jan 2012 Good London ride from hide park corner to Vitoria part and back threw London and home. 15th Jan My wife gets upset if I stay in !!!

15^th Jan, another Cold start but as yesterday the sun was out, but it was a little damp.
So if you where not pedalling the cold would creep in to you.
Nice ride went straight up into London, for breakfast near the London eye then down and over tower bridge the shard tower is looking more and more like a blew megaphone! Or if it had a point at the top a large rocket, or it could be a very large ice-cream cone complemented by the wok up on the river.
Both quite mamzing buildings really But the shard looks  yet another megalith to Growth and wealth, I wonder if one day growth stops and they will say its all grown up now, so we can all take part in the wealth instead of suffering cuts to create something most of us never really take part in? However no Videos or photos as it was a normal London run with all the normal stops for Tea and cake. The Greenspeed went rather well wheel not working fine, stayed free.
Stirring is running well after the strip down and greasing., Yester day found the bottom S&S coupling had come undone! Must ICQ more often. All in all another great day with no problems, mind you Adrian the Capitan was not as sharp with the gearing to day as Yesterday! 7 out of 10 to day I would say on over all preferment’s, could do better, however it was made up by buying the coffees.
Looks like we are out next week as well, he may well have a pass to come out to play again from his wife, my wife gets upset if I stay in !!! strange that ?

14th Jan 2012 9am 3 Degrees at least no Ice on widescreen!!

Adrian ( Capitan ) Heeded off to Richmond Park, as the Tandem had not been there before.
Nice crisp sunny day, really good cycling day sun out all day.
Total trip miles 37 Miles, not bad legs good, had to do a few touch ups at Home, painted the bottom of the frame where we bottomed out last Saturday, it was not to bad as it had not broken the pain only the surface, then deserved bottom S&S coupling was not tight! Then played around with right wheel again as it was still not right, however I think I have it now as it running as free as the right one now, will have to see what its like after to Sunday ring tomorrow.

Greenspeed day out on the West Middlesex club Sunday run.

We meet at the Pimp for 9.15 start.

Good dry day Tandem running well , good company, and one or two hills to negotiate.
Muhayman was the lead out to day, did a good Job.

Total miles covered on the Greenspeed 51miles not bad for a Jan

The End of a good day, however after two days on the tandem
